Brief Biography
Frank Johnston was born in Birmingham in 1945. He worked for many years in the computer industry which enabled him to travel extensively, throughout the world. He started painting as a boy and has been a dedicated professional painter since 1980. His work can be found in Institutions and Private collections all over the world.
He is a "self taught" painter. Frank learnt by copying the great Masters of Classical Realism and has spent several years studying the Masters, Bougereau and the Pre-Raphaelites in particular. He is a very prolific artist. His love of colour is quite obvious and he uses this skill when interpreting the Masters adding his own style and colour.He has the versatility to approach any subject and instill his own vibrancy and style. Frank is a dedicated Artist not influenced by the commercialism of the Art world rather living and breathing his work, whilst living to paint.
